Natural Honey

Organic Trend Here to Stay Despite Food Price Crunch

Market analysts say the organic market trend is here to stay, despite rising food prices. In fact, issues surrounding these price hikes – the globalization of food and environmental factors – may actually bolster this market.

Most of us know honey as a sweet, golden liquid.

But, in fact, honey can be found in a variety of forms.

Comb Honey

Comb Honey – Comb honey is honey that comes as it was produced — in the honey bees’ wax comb. The comb, as well as the honey, is edible!

Cut Comb
- Cut comb honey is liquid honey that has added chunks of the honey
comb in the jar. Also known as liquid-cut comb combination.

Liquid (or Table) Honey

Liquid Honey – Free of visible crystals, liquid honey is extracted from the honey comb by
centrifugal force, gravity or straining. Because liquid honey mixes easily into a variety of foods, it’s especially convenient for cooking and baking. Most of the honey  produced in the United States is sold in the liquid form.

Naturally Crystallized Honey – Naturally
crystallized honey is honey that part of the natural glucose content
has spontaneously crystallized from solution as the mono hydrate.

Creamed HoneyCreamed (or Whipped) Honey – While all honey will crystallize in time, creamed honey (also known as whipped honey or sugared honey) is brought to market in a crystallized state. The crystallization is controlled so that, at room temperature, the honey can be spread like butter. In many countries around the world, creamed honey is preferred to the liquid form.

Teavana Hawaiian Lehua Gold Honey Teavana Hawaiian Lehua Gold Honey

Teavana’s exclusive Hawaiian Lehua Gold honey is produced by bees located in the upland native forests of the volcano Mauna Loa in the remote Ka’u district on the Island of Hawaii, and they gather nectar almost exclusively from the lovely and delicate Lehua flowers. The bright red Lehua flowers are symbols of erotic love and are sacred to Pele, the goddess of fire and volcanoes. The bees’ hard work yields an extraordinarily full bodied, rich honey with a very pleasing buttery-floral flavor reminiscent of English toffee. Our Lehua honey will naturally form very fine, almost white crystals after it has been bottled.
